The 90-day wall

Every serious NinjaTrader backtest hits the same limit.

NinjaTrader only keeps about 90 days of market replay data on its servers. Need to replay a setup from six months ago? It's gone. This is the single most common complaint in the NinjaTrader forums — and NinjaTrader's own answer is "we only supply up to 90 days."

✕ Without ReplayFutures

The usual workarounds

  • NinjaTrader's built-in replay caps out at ~90 days — older dates simply won't download.
  • Rithmic or Kinetick tick subscriptions run $55–60/month just to get history.
  • One-time "bulk package" sellers give you a 30-day download window, then it's gone forever.
  • Recording it yourself means leaving NinjaTrader running live, every single day, forever.
✓ With ReplayFutures

One subscription, 18 months deep

  • 18 months of tick-by-tick replay data on every instrument — with the major index futures going back even further, to 2023.
  • $29/month — less than half the cost of a Rithmic or Kinetick data feed.
  • Always-on archive: pull any date, any time, as many times as you need.
  • We record and verify every session so you never have to. New days added daily.

FAQ

Questions traders ask before subscribing.

How is this different from NinjaTrader's built-in market replay?+
It's the same kind of data — real tick-by-tick market replay files NinjaTrader plays back natively — except NinjaTrader only keeps about 90 days of it on their servers. ReplayFutures maintains an 18-month archive (with the major index futures going back even further, to 2023), so you can replay dates that NinjaTrader can no longer give you. The files drop straight into your NinjaTrader replay folder and play through the normal Playback connection.
Is this real tick / Level 2 replay data, or just OHLC bars?+
It's true market replay data — the same tick-by-tick recordings NinjaTrader's Playback connection uses, including depth where the original session had it. This is what makes order-flow and DOM practice possible, which bar-only tools like TradingView Bar Replay can't do.
Which instruments and dates are covered?+
18 CME futures across equity index, energy, metals and treasuries — including the micros (MES, MNQ, MYM, M2K, MCL, MGC). All instruments have roughly 18 months of history, with the index futures (ES, MES, NQ, MNQ) going back furthest, to 2023. New trading days are added to the archive daily. See the full list in the Coverage section above.
How do I get the data into NinjaTrader?+
After you subscribe, your license key appears on the welcome page right after checkout, where you also download the ReplayFutures addon. You import the addon into NinjaTrader once, then pick the instrument and trading day you want, and the replay file downloads directly into NinjaTrader's replay folder. From there you connect to the Playback connection and trade the session exactly like NinjaTrader's own replay. It works inside NinjaTrader 8 on Windows.
What happens if I cancel?+
You can cancel anytime. Any replay files you've already downloaded stay in your NinjaTrader replay folder and keep working — they're standard NinjaTrader replay files. What ends is your access to download new dates from the archive. Cancel during the 7-day trial and you're never charged.
How does the 7-day free trial work?+
You start with full access for 7 days. A card is required to begin the trial, but you aren't charged until day 8. If ReplayFutures isn't useful to you, cancel before then and you pay nothing. After day 7 it converts to your chosen plan — $29/month or $290/year.
Do I need a paid NinjaTrader license?+
You need NinjaTrader 8 installed on Windows — the free version is fine for replay and backtesting. ReplayFutures supplies the replay data; NinjaTrader supplies the platform that plays it. NinjaTrader 8 is Windows-only, so ReplayFutures is too.
Why is this cheaper than Rithmic or Kinetick?+
Rithmic and Kinetick are full live data feeds — you're paying for real-time market data and a lot more than replay history. ReplayFutures does one thing: give NinjaTrader backtesters and prop-firm practicers a deep, always-available replay archive. Narrower scope, lower price — $29/month instead of $55–60/month.
